We respect the privacy of your data. INTRODUCTION The Alliance for Continuing Rabbinic Education ("ACRE"), owners of http://www.allianceforcre.org/, recognizes the importance of protecting your privacy and providing a safe on-line experience for our visitors to our Web sites (collectively, the "ACRE Site"). Our policy is to use the information we acquire from visitors to the ACRE Site for internal purposes only, and we maintain appropriate security measures to keep this information private. This privacy statement ("Privacy Policy") describes ACRE's policy concerning the gathering and sharing of visitor information through the ACRE Site. By using the ACRE Site, you agree to the provisions of this Privacy Policy as amended from time to time. REGISTERED MEMBERSHIP In order to participate in much of the ACRE Site, we require our guests to register. Once registered, a member may participate in registered member activities, including online classes, informational conference calls, subscribing to the ACRE Gazer newsletter, making an on-line purchase, or request information on upcoming programs (there may be a charge for some of these activities). In many cases, this information will include your e-mail address and other personally-identifiable information. ACRE only uses your personal information for the purpose for which you provide it (e.g., to confirm and fulfill your orders, respond to inquiries, etc.). For example, if you order a product or service from ACRE, we ask for your name, address, email address, organization, title, phone number, credit information (e.g., credit card, Pay Pal, etc.) and/or a personal check. When using a credit card, ACRE uses credit card information through Pay Pal or other recognized secure sites submitted through the ACRE Site for payment purposes only, and utilizes industry standard secure encryption technology to reasonably assure the privacy and security of the payment information of anyone who places online orders with us. CHILDREN'S POLICY The ACRE Site and its online features are intended for adults. However, some of the online features may appeal to teens 13 and older. ACRE is strongly committed to protecting the safety and privacy of children who visit the ACRE Site. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under age 13, and have adopted techniques to assist in compliance with this Privacy Policy and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Action of 1998 ("COPPA"). COPPA and its accompanying regulations establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. SHARING PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH OTHERS We take very seriously our responsibility to maintain your privacy with respect to your personal information. ACRE does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. ACRE may share your personal information with affiliates we hire to perform support services for us, such as credit card processing and order fulfillment. We reserve the right to use or disclose any information without notice or consent as needed to satisfy any law, regulation or legal request; to conduct investigations of consumer complaints or possible breaches of law; to protect the integrity of the ACRE Site and our property; to protect the safety of our members or others; to fulfill your requests; or to cooperate in any legal investigation. INFORMATION PROVIDED TO ACRE THROUGH YOUR WEB BROWSER In addition to information you choose to provide to ACRE, we also gather certain non-personally identifiable information automatically through technology to make the ACRE Site more interesting and useful to you. For instance, when you come to the ACRE Site, we collect the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your Internet service provider (ISP), the name of your operating system (such as Windows® or Macintosh®); the name and version of your browser (such as Firefox® or Window's Internet Explorer®); and the Internet address of the Web site from which you linked directly to the ACRE Site. The information we receive depends on the settings on your Web browser. Please check your browser if you want to learn what information your browser sends or how to change your settings. This type of information does not identify you personally. We use this information to create statistics that help us improve the ACRE Site and make it more compatible with the technology used by our visitors. If you access the ACRE Site through an email we have sent you, or have created a "user identity" by logging on during one of your visits, this information will not be linked to information that identifies you personally without your approval. With your approval, we will combine site-visitation data with the personal information that you have provided to us and/or with other information that is publicly available or that we receive from other reputable sources in order to make the ACRE Site and communications more targeted to your interests. INFORMATION COLLECTED BY PLACING "COOKIES" ON YOUR COMPUTER Your Web browser offers so-called "cookies" which, if you allow their use, store small amounts of data on your computer when you visit a Web site. Cookies do not contain any personally-identifiable information about you and cannot be used to identify you personally.
