Description
The Legacy Heritage Rabbinic Enrichment Initiative offers a new breed of continuing rabbinic education to fourteen early mid-career rabbis through an intense two-year fellowship. LHREI is a response to the expansion of the congregational rabbinic role in recent years to include more significant management and leadership responsibilities all the while understanding that rabbinic leadership in a congregation is more than serving as its CEO. Program components include two summer intensive institutes, monthly contact with rabbinic mentors, and a virtual Beit Midrash that provides videoconference interaction with each other and with JTS faculty. Future plans include opportunities for sharing outcomes at Rabbinical Assembly and United Synagogue gatherings, an article in Conservative Judaism, and presentations to the Leadership Council of Conservative Judaism.
